5 Ways to Reduce Anxiety
Hello, I'm sure many of you viewing this are familiar with one of the most common mental health issues, anxiety. I have lived with it for as long as I can remember and just wanted to share the five most helpful/useful items and exorcises to help relieve some of it :)
Want to watch these 5 ways, check it out!
1. Yoga! (Or Fitness)
Yes, Yoga. This has been something that has helped me through some tough times, and it also helps you to stay fit, so win win. I do have a video going in to more detail about my first yoga class and how it helped me through a stressful weekend, check the link above π
2. Essential Oils Aroma Therapy
This was a recommendation from my doctor, as well as the one above. She had stated that rubbing pepperming essential oil (100% natural and safe for your skin essential oil) can help to relax your mind in a stress time. I have personally learned from pain staking experience, that grapefruit essential oil is my go to when feeling a little nervous or anxious as hell. I personally use an oil diffuser for this I highly recommend Now Foods Essentail Oils, these are all natural and safe for your skin, again, be cautious of this when buying them.
3. Hobbies!
This is my personal favorite! Finding that one hobby that you greatly enjoy can help as well. Let's go back to the first one, yoga/fitness, this can also play as your hobby :) Me personally, I love art, crafts, DIYs, those are what works for me to take those ratchet thoughts out of my head! Definitely try something new and explore if you currently don't have a go-to hobby.
4. Deep Breathing Exercises
This is something that has helped me out of panic attacks as well as prevented them, I guarantee it will do the same for you, but it can help lower your heart rate. If you inhale slowly for about 4-6 seconds, hold your breath for about 3 seconds and then slowly exhale, about 6-8 seconds, this can help reduce your heart rate.
5. Journal
Another one that has helped me. I do have a journal... daily log... diary... whatever you want to call it. If I did something, let's say at work, that scares me in to thinking I will get a firing email, this helpsπ Majority of mistakes I have made are really minor and really common, and writing out the mistakes and thinking out the oncoming scenarios helps me to be prepared as well as realize how ridiculous my thoughts can get... π
* Just so you know, I am not a doctor, this is not guaranteed to cure or help everyone. This is something that helps me, personally. Please contact your doctor for professional help.
